Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday. Remember to make good choices as your serving your plate. And find something active to do while the food is cooking, maybe a turkey bowl, a hike or play in the back yard with the kids.
I will post a workout Friday that can be done at home.

Attendance was pretty slim this morning at 6am. It's not thanksgiving yet, people. Megan is excused, since she exercised today. I assume that the rest of you came to a later class, and that you'll be posting your scores shortly?
If not, then I think I should get to eat an extra thanksgiving pie for each person who doesn't work out today. You can eat an extra helping of cauliflower for me.
I asked Camie to video a couple of my deadlifts this morning. I thought I'd open my form up for critique and/or laughs.
ReplyDeleteThis first video is at 185 lbs. It looks ok (to me) for the most part. My shoulders may be a hair too far forward, and my head too high. You can see it at:

This second video is at 215 lbs. It has all sorts of wrong in it. I start off ok. But then my hips go up way before my shoulders go up. This pushes my shoulders forward, so the bar is basically under my sternum instead of my shoulders as I lift. When the bar is just below the knees, I start trying to bend my elbows which causes the funky bar swing. As I look at it, I'm wondering if I'm keeping the weight more toward the balls of my feet rather than the heels. On the positive side, It looks like I'm keeping my lower back straight. See it at:

Sorry, Ernie. You can't have extra pie for the Wittusens, we went to the 7 am class. I haven't had a chance to watch your videos but I'd love to see them so I can learn and get better myself. I hit a new PR on the deadlift today at 190 pounds but I know it wasn't pretty! Finished the row in 4:45.
ReplyDeleteMegan you can totally win cause you are working so hard! Don't sabotage yourself with leftovers over the weekend. I know that is going to be a hard one for me!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
