For breakfast, I had shredded wheat cereal. For lunch I brought a pack of saltines, a can of tuna and a good sized turnip that I cubed and boiled this morning. This is the first time in my life I've eaten a turnip. I'm not sure where it fits in the good root(carrot)/bad root(potato) spectrum. But it's got to be better for me than chocolate.
I'm getting Bod Pod tested today!(fancy body fat machine). Eric mentioned that some of you might also be interested. It's $20 at BYU. the website and phone number are below.
This challenge has been a challenge indeed. Missed the workout today because the alarm didn't go off, got up late, and clingy child would freak out if I left her at home. I sacrificed and sent Brad, should get extra points for that.
Brad ate: B: Protein smoothie with fruit, milk, yogurt S: 1/2 cup pistachios L: Bean and ham soup, boiled egg, 1/2 cup sugar snap peas, 12oz diet soda S: 1/2 cup pistachios S2: apple, 12 oz of milk, 2 oz cheese D: Pork and shitake lettuce wraps, asparagus, 12 oz milk
Heleen ate: B: Boiled egg and a few almonds Lunch: Egg and vegetable soufle Snack: 1/2 cup greek yogurt with about 1/2 cup berries D: Pork and shitake lettuce wraps with asparagus. Drank water but still need more.
I think we need to take points away from Marco, but I can't really speak to that as my diet has been far from ideal: Yesterday: B. smoothie (protein powder, milk, coconut oil, spinach) S. almonds and soy milk L. eggs, cheese, ham, potato dish S. Reeses chocolates 3 D. Thai Salad from CPK
Today: B. Smoothie S. Same as yesterday with beef jerky L. Same as yesterday with salsa S. four mini chocolates, beef jerky, cheese, cuties, licorice D. Baked Ziti d. bowl of ice cream with fudge sauce -- oops
Workout 1: Enjoyed Squat therapy Snatch was up to 170# Super happy about that!
Workout 2: I was late so I did 20 burpees Personal WoD: 5 Rds ( 500 m row, 5 Muscle Ups, 50 Double Unders, 5 Handstand push-ups) It took me a measly 48 minutes, i'm pooped. I haven't been practicing my muscle ups and so was only able to complete 7 of them, then many many failed attempts. This took most of my time. Still felt good to come in and push hard.
PS-Ernie...turnip is definitely a better choice than chocolate; it has about 1/3 the carb content of potato or squash, and is in the middle on glycemic index. I'm really impressed that you tried a new vegetable!
I'm going to post my food the day after... so here is yesterday
ReplyDeleteb: 2 eggs + 2 egg whites

l:chicken salad with tomatoes, carrot, celery and zucchini
s:slice of swiss cheese, goldfish crackers
d:orange, terriaki chicken, zucchini & onions
plenty of water!
Power snatch 45-65-75-85-85.
